A modern take on traditional wares

So the quest continues for fabulous new room finds and in celebration of their online launch, House of Hackney opened a pop up shop at the beginning of March with a Lilli Vanilli exclusive tea room, so I went along to be inspried. After tea, cake & a reading from a 'doctor' who reads your palm and then types you up what you need to action on his cranky typewriter (sort of confession without the three hail Marys), you are shown round the showroom aka the upstairs rooms of the house which have been transformed into three looks:
Dalston Rose - inspired by the traditional English rose, this collection transforms this idea into a lavishly comfortable setting, making you want to curl up on the bed or sink into the quilted chairs.

Hackney Empire - A racous array of colour & characters stewn over the walls and furniture and my personal favourite

Queen Bee - The 'Mother of the whole collection', she is the contradiction of clean and untidy/ diva and tramp/ extravagant yet reserved. Awash with gold and sky blue, its bound to get you feeling luxurious with the different textures & trims adorning each item.

Everything you see, you can own. From the crimson velvet chaise long & hookah smoking sloths printed wallpaper to the custom made four poster bed.
This is definately indulgent, but definately worth it!

If only -->Coachella Festival 2011

Ok so I'm not going but it marks the start of the festivals to come! Summer has arrived!
It also doesn't mean I can't show you my fave outfits from it either. The three day event takes place at the Empire Fields in California where the young, fun and some famous head for music, art & fashion parties.
Rihanna, Lauryn Hill & Diane Kruger were among the few watching Kanye, Mumford & Songs, Duran Duran & Arcade Fire to name a few perform.

Dita, I  love you : Its festival time so one must always wear Dior (ofcourse??!)
I love her  South Pacific inspired dress

Erykah Badu, I love you. Just looking at you makes me feel calmCoachella 2011: Coachella 2011

H&M interiors

Some people have Zara, I'd love to frequent Urban Outfitters as much (if money grew on trees yes) so instead I visit H&M, the highstreet Ikea of choice for affordabe luxe at high street prices. I've moved house so I'm looking for new, pretty, perhaps (un)necessary things for my new room & thought I'd browse H&M online to see what homewares they had to offer. I was actually suprised at how good the selection was. In fact it was if they read my mind (I wanted vintage-esque, they gave it to me!)
Here are a few of the purchases :
Dog £6.99
Ruffly rose Cushion £3.99(Only!)

Illustrative duvet £19.99 (it wasn't when I bought it! :( )

Illustrated cushion £6.99

To lift the spirits on a dull morning - Shower mat £6.99

You can afford to splurge without the guilt of a huge pricetag - http://www.hm.com/gb/department/HOME
A warning though, don't tick the "I'd like it to all come at once" box otherwise you'll be waiting for weeks. Yes I learnt my lesson. And no next day delivery? H&M sort it out
